Area Sales Manager Ottawa

For the Area Sales Manager in Ottawa the primary focus will be on developing new relationships across multiple product lines to sell web based data products, services and online advertising to achieve aggressive corporate objectives.

Job requirements:

  • Develops and implements personal sales plans and forecasts to achieve organizational objectives for paid web services, web design, web development, SEO, online marketing, advertising, sponsorships and analytical services
  • Identifies new clients and agencies to develop relationships and opportunities
  • Meets with existing key clients and agencies to maintain relationships. Consistently meets quotas and related sales objectives
  • Produces timely reports on sales forecasts / activities as related to achieving sales goals.
  • Provides timely information when financial results may deviate materially from plan/budget.
  • Manages sales expense budget wisely and efficiently.
  • Recommends adjustments to pricing, sales strategy or packaging to meet sales objectives.
  • Coaches other junior members of the sales team to meet their quotas and objectives.
  • Monitors competitors products, sales and marketing activities for business opportunities
  • Identifies and proposes new opportunities to generate revenue
  • Assist in the development of new products, services and programs as applicable.
  • Liaison to Marketing, Editorial, Production and Design and others as needed towards launching new sales initiatives
  • Travels as necessary to meet sales goals
  • Assist in providing coverage at any company sponsored events as required by management
  • Reviews and analyzes personal sales performance against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness
  • Proactively identifies courses of actions utilizing whatever means needed to address or remedy any areas or capabilities deemed deficient

  • Ability to use alternative analytical approaches to solve digital/interactive/marketing problems

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five to seven years successful sales experience that can be documented is expected
  • Sales team management as a player coach is a strong plus
  • Excellent motivation, organization, communication and negotiating skills is essential.
  • Solid track record in meeting & exceeding sales/revenue goals is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build solid client relationships, to create and deliver compelling sales presentations/proposals that drive business commitments, and to manage all aspects of covering an assigned sales territory.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal resources/groups and under frequent deadlines is important
