Junior Copywriter

The junior copywriter is a copywriter in training. He is in the process of learning the copywriter's craft-how to think conceptually, how to write engaging copy that ties back to strategic/business goals, how to collaborate effectively with other disciplines.

... And so the junior copywriter might be expected to do a little bit of everything.

Job requirements:

  • Perform just about any task associated with the creation of content, including research, product descriptions, and basic proofreading tasks.
  • Start to concept and collaborate with creative team, including other copywriters, interaction designers, art directors, and programmers.
  • Shadow senior colleagues as they present work to clients and adapt work based on feedback.
  • Work with producers to ensure work is delivered on deadline and up to clients' and agency's standards.
  • Begin to get comfortable writing in multiple styles and for multiple formats.

Skills:

  • Some secondary schooling-ideally an undergraduate degree from a four-year college. Advertising/marketing courses are helpful but not essential.
  • Some experience in an agency setting-e.g., internships-preferred.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks.
  • Curiosity, and a passion for digital media.
